what’s life without some lust?

Nahh this post isn’t really what it sounds like. It’s just that I’ve discovered (rather belatedly I’m sure) the Pixie Market which is full of amazing outfits that I’ve be willing to take up a part time job to get the money to wear. I love how the clothes are styled and while the items are quite pricey, I could spend hours browsing all the different looks and styles to get inspiration for everyday wear.
I’ve never actually worn one before but I’m really liking the slightly androgynous look these models are sporting with those casual chic jodhpurs. Loving the button detail on this plaid jodphur.

A couple of months ago (around October of last year) while browsing through a number of Japanese fashion sites I started noticing how leggings were rather rampant streetwear. The boy once mentioned that he felt almost all fashion trends originate from Japan and are most rapidly emulated in nearby Taiwan and HongKong before being brought over to much larger countries such as the U.S or those in the UK before making it to the runway, getting commercialized and then filtered down through the stores to the masses. I kept those words in mind and true enough, on a trip in HK in Dec 07 I noticed loads of polka dotted outfits (which I thought were rather hideous because I’ve never been one for polka dots) but then after coming back I gradually began noticing those dots spreading everywhere and now look at the recent Commes des Garcons for H&M collection. There’s just no escape. ;p I thought it was a rather interesting observation on his part though and it’s proven true these past couple of months. Leggings and tights seem to be all the rage now. I like seeing how creative the patterns and designs can get. A couple of years back it seemed leggings were merely an extension of undergarments that came in discreet (black, gray, brown, beige) colors meant for work/formal attire or to appear more modestly dressed should the outfit come a little short at the legs. These bleached leggings are the focal points of the outfits themselves. Photobucket

And to round up, just a couple of favorites from the stuff on offer. I think this will be the first of many posts on Pixie Market in days to come. The fall of that plaid coat just makes me swoon. And I like the cheeky, chic look of the blue skirt, striped top and bowler hat outfit.

Wishing everyone a great week ahead~

I’ve heard the same thing said of Asian trends being about a year ahead of trends everywhere else. Note to self: start paying more attention to Japanese fashion magazines.

I was really surprised to hear back from them, but the feature approached was only for the approval of their photographs… sadly, I don’t live anywhere near them. sigh.

But it’s still quite an honor, so I wrote a little tribute and went collage crazy… and hopefully it wil be as good as your PM spread!
